Shipping FAQ PDF Print E-mail

What is "common carrier" freight?

Simply put, this is shipping an order on a semi truck.  On orders were the total weight of the shipment is 200 lbs or more, this shipping method is preferable.  We can place your heaters on a pallet, shrink them for protection and they will arrive better than if we had used UPS Ground.  Any order over 265 lbs or any item that UPS finds too large will automatically be sent on a truck.

Do I have to have shipping dock to use common carrier freight?

No.  The trucking services we use provide curbside delivery.  Keep in mind your shipping address must be able to accommodate the 48' truck. We’ve tried to make this process as easy as possible, but please contact us (800-748-2678) if you have any questions.  Truck Ship - Some orders are too large to ship by UPS and will be shipped "freight". Freight shipments will be done by a 48' tractor/trailer (a big truck). We will NOT be responsible for inaccurate or undeliverable addresses.

The delivery driver requires your assistance in unloading your shipment, and leaves the item at the curbside. Please keep in mind some of the items on our site are very heavy. Any additional services, such as two-person delivery or inside delivery are not included in the price of the item. The cost of these additional services varies from city to city. They usually cost between $75.00 and $125.00 extra. In most cases additional services will not be necessary if you are comfortable helping someone with a moderately heavy item.

My shipment looks damaged, what should I do?

BEFORE signing the delivery receipt - All shipments leave our warehouse or the factory in perfect condition. The manufacturer and shipping companies do their best to ensure that your shipment arrives on time and without any damage. However, sometimes, damage does occur in shipping. It is therefore very important that you inspect the delivery before signing the delivery receipt. Take your time checking the delivery, and make sure you are satisfied before signing. The boxes usually have some wear, dents, etc., but the most products we sell are rarely damaged inside the box.  If there is excessive damage to the box or just a lot of dents, slashes, openings on the corner or in things that cause you to suspect there may be damaged or missing pieces, make sure the driver clearly writes the problem on the delivery receipt (this will be very useful if a shipping claim must be made). Once you sign, you have absolved the shipping company of any responsibility and it is almost impossible to have a claim honored.  More than likely there will be no problem with the shipment itself but this is a safety precaution.
